Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of this website, shiftiapp.com. They don't cover your use of the Shifti software itself. Using Shifti Cloud (app.shiftiapp.com) is governed by its own terms, presented at signup and available at app.shiftiapp.com/terms. Running self-hosted Shifti is governed by the license terms presented and agreed to separately at the time you obtain a license key, not here.

Acceptance of these terms

By using this website — browsing it, submitting the contact form, or downloading the install files — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What this site is

This site describes two products: Shifti Cloud, a hosted scheduling, time clock, and time-off application, and self-hosted Shifti, the same application run on your own server. It lets you sign up for Shifti Cloud, or get in touch about a self-hosted license key. Pricing shown on /pricing is per employee, billed monthly or annually, and is subject to change — the price you're quoted or agree to at the time of purchase governs your actual subscription or license.

Trying self-hosted Shifti without a license

The Shifti packages described on /install are freely downloadable. On first boot, the software checks in automatically and — for teams of 3 or fewer employees — is issued a free license with no signup, credit card, or request involved. Larger teams can contact us to have their trial seat limit raised, then run with the full feature set for 7 days before a paid license is required; after that window, an installation without a valid key shows a lock screen until a license key is added, and no data is lost in the meantime. Full license terms are provided separately at the time you obtain a paid key.

Payment and billing

License purchases made through /buy are billed as a recurring subscription through PayPal — PayPal processes the payment itself, and we never see or store your card or PayPal account details. You can cancel at any time through your own PayPal account, which stops future billing. The current billing period you've already paid for is non-refundable, and your license stays valid through the end of that period. Prefer to pay by invoice instead? Use /buy/invoice — the same non-refundable, cancel-anytime-going-forward terms apply.

Acceptable use

Don't use this site to submit false, abusive, or unlawful content through the contact form, attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the site, or scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other visitors.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

This site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
